VOLUNTEER
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The primary opportunity for volunteering at Meridian is at the Welcome Center, located at the main entrance of the building. Welcome Center volunteers set the tone for the patient experience. This is where anyone can come to get assistance finding their way within the clinic or accessing community resource information. Amenities, managed by volunteers, include community resource computers, a phone, and a coffee kiosk.
You will play a key role in making this a positive and nurturing environment. You will help run the desk, greet people as they enter, provide information on resources and services, and offer general support. The typical volunteer commitment is one 4 hour shift per week over the span of six months. Longer commitments are welcome and can deepen your experience.
There are also opportunities to participate through projects or activities that assist the smooth operation of the Meridian Center for Health.
WHAT YOU WILL GAIN FROM THIS EXPERIENCE
-
The satisfaction of helping people connect with the health and social services they need.
-

-

-
Connections and relationships with staff of diverse backgrounds.
-

-
After 6 months of service, we can offer references for potential school or work applications.
